“The Aral” by Author Frank Wilem

The Aral

FACT: The Aral Sea area is the worst man-made ecological disaster in the history of the world and home to what once was the world’s largest bioweapons lab.

The Aral, published in 2014, is Wilem’s third novel. Like his second book, The Pass, this sequel is also based on a true event.

The Aral is currently available in hardcover and in e-book format via major Amazon as is the case with Wilem’s other books.  However, you may purchase here for a personalized signed first edition of The Aral from Wilem’s personal inventory.

 Praise for The Aral

“Frank Wilem’s powerhouse thriller The Aral starts fast and never slows down as he weaves an intriguing tale full of twists.”   New York Times bestseller Dianna Love.

“An international thriller that gallops at a breakneck pace.” USA Today bestselling Author Mary Buckham.

“If you like Clive Cussler’s Dirk Pitt, you’ll enjoy Frank Wilem’s Quint and his loyal team. He takes us on a journey that starts and ends in Key West. But strap on your seat belts and get ready for a dangerous journey deep into Russia full of surprises. Wilem’s love of the sea and his years of experience on the water are once again expertly weaved into this wild ride.”  President and publisher of New Orleans’ The Times Picayune Ricky Mathews.

The Aral is the third in this series and the second I have read. Like the first novel “The Keys”, previously reviewed, this left me wanting more. I will read number 2 “The Pass” and then the fourth “Tears of Coral”. Each book is adventure packed enough to encourage you to just keep on reading. The repeated set of characters keeps continuity going and each book so far has ended in a cliff hanger leaving me wanting more. The factual locations and historical accounts led me to pursue information further such as the history of the Aral Sea and the biological weapons manufactured by the Russians. Great stuff.  Eric Cunliffe .

I have now read all three of your books. I found the third one to be the best by far. I literally fell asleep over it, woke up in the middle of the night and finished it. You are now on my favorites list.”   Pam Williams

Quint, Dawson, and their team rush to Uzbekistan to destroy a bioweapons cache before it falls into the hands of terrorists. With the Aral Sea shrinking, Renaissance Island will soon become a peninsula giving terrorists easy access to anthrax, VX nerve agent, and most terrifying: a genetically altered strain of small pox for which there is no method of prevention and no cure.

The quirky characters from Wilem’s previous two novels face dust storms, armed mercenaries, and some of the team’s old enemies who place obstacles in their path at every turn. In a race from Uzbekistan to the Arctic, not all of them will make it out unscathed or alive in their struggle against thugs, terrorists, and corrupt Russian soldiers.
